So, often, when I browse DA or some other site where I can see others' art, often I'll see pieces by well known or respected artists and just be...Completely unimpressed. Like "I can do that."

Then, when I come here and look at my gallery, I realize it doesn't reflect what I'm capable of at all. It actually represents me pretty shittily. Everything here I was once proud of looks below second rate due to my dated understanding of anatomy and photoshop. Personally, I blame my limited gallery on a lack of a scanner that I can readily use. But I guess that's just an excuse.

My boss got me a sketchbook for Christmas, and thus far it has some of my best sketches to date. Without question, the best drawings of my characters Dane and Sean are in that book, and I intend to do the rest of my cast as well in a recreation of the Jag Fighter pin-up in my gallery. I've always liked re-doing old work to show myself how much I've improved. If you haven't tried it, you definitely should. It's a blast.

In my head, I'd like it to have about 70 pieces. Every single piece, I would do my best on. If I was doing a piece and decided it wasn't cutting it or I wasn't having the good times, then I'd stop and do something that was up to snuff. The book would be my 100%.
I'm not promising that it'll happen, but I will say there's a very good chance. Another issue is that I'd need people to buy it. Heh. Would you buy it?

I've also thought about redoing my whole gallery. As in... Taking the old pieces I still like, fixing what needs to be fixed, inking and coloring them just to spruse things up a bit. Vash the Stampede, Usagi Yojimbo and the sketch of Dane fighting the alien are definitely pieces I'd like to revisit.

Anyway. That's it. I guess I just sorta felt like talkin', but I'd love opinions. Give'em up.
